Membrane Kinesis - Shaping and Transport of Cell Membranes

October 22, 2013,

Lecture Hall B1, Biocenter, Campus Riedberg, Goethe-University Frankfurt

This international symposium is part of the Friedrich-Merz Foundation Honorary Guest Professorship, which this year has been awarded to Professor Jennifer Lippincott-Schwartz, NIH Bethesda, U.S.A., and will focus on exciting new developments in Cell Biology, Biomedicine, Infectious Biology, Chemical Biology and Biophysics, where dynamic nature of cells and their membranes play important roles.

These areas include organelle biogenesis, endocytosis and vesicular trafficking, but also novel approaches using model systems as well as chemical or optogenetic tools. This symposium will discuss various aspects by which membrane shaping, transport and remodeling achieve important biological functions and malfuction leading to human diseases. Registration is required.
